Daikin Invests in Advanced Composite Corporation

Daikin Industries, Ltd. announced its investment in Advanced Composite Corporation, a startup specializing in aluminum-based metal matrix composites and metal joining technology. This collaboration aims to enhance the performance of compressors—key components in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment—by utilizing lightweight materials that maintain the strength of cast iron. Advanced Composite’s proprietary molten metal forging technology enables cost-effective production of these materials, which, when applied to compressor parts, can reduce weight, lower power consumption during air conditioner operation, and contribute to energy savings in HVAC&R products. ​
